I design sound systems for live events, broadcast, and special projects. Forty years of it — theaters, concert halls, arenas, conventions, NBC entertainment productions, the Beijing Olympics.

What I actually do is solve problems before they become problems. The gear matters, but the thinking matters more: who's the client, what's the brief, what does the system need to survive contact with reality. I design for reliability, clarity, and the thing nobody specs but everyone notices — when it just works.
